Asia Argento, a #MeToo activist and one of Harvey Weinstein‘s most high-profile accusers, accepted to pay $380,000 to her own accuser, according to a bombshell report by The New York Times.
Citing papers sent to the press anonymously and verified with 3 people familiar with the case, the report says that in the months following her allegations against Weinstein last October, Asia Argento reached a financial settlement with Jimmy Bennett, who once acted in 2004’s The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things. (Argento also co-wrote and directed the movie.)
The musician and actor, now 22, claimed that in 2013, then-37-year-old Asia sexually assaulted Bennett in a California hotel room 2 months after he turned 17, the report says. (In California, eighteen is the age of consent.)
