Dearly beloved Texan NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys had the shock of their lives this weekend. Perhaps we ought to give their offense a public service announcement that the season has started. Their 16 – 8 loss to the Carolina Panthers was a rather unexpected one from the team we all knew to be great on the offense. Instead, they brought on an act that Head Coach Jason Garrett will always remember as the worst season opener in his tenure. It would have been bearable to see their offense put on a fight even if they lost, but it was pretty obvious that they didn’t bring their game on.
By the fourth quarter, the Cowboys were already trailing by 16 – 0. The play was so terrible that some attributed the Cowboys scoring 8 to an act of God. Many people agree that the Cowboys offense showed a considerable lack of talent in the game. Which is not so farfetched when you consider that their preseason preparations were really just all about resting their best players. It was pretty obvious that the starters didn’t play together enough during their preseason training to be sharp. And the Panthers were not shy about taking advantage of their opponents. Not one bit!
