Winnie Harlow originally born Chantelle Brown-Young on July 27, 1994, is a Canadian fashion model and a public spokesperson on the skin condition vitiligo. The daughter of Lisa Brown and Windsor Young, she is of Jamaican ancestry and has two sisters. At the age of four, she was diagnosed with the chronic skin condition vitiligo, characterized by depigmentation of portions of the skin, Harlow gained fame as a contestant on the twenty-first series of the U.S. television series America's Next Top Model due to her condition. In a modeling industry that is endemic to archaic stereotypes of beauty, Winnie is redefining global standards of beauty. “I believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” says Winnie, who is also the face and brand ambassador of global fashion brand, Desigual.
