Every day, we see people who are budding in their career paths. These people fit into their career so well we think they must have been into it all their lives. However, this isn’t always the case. Some of the celebrities we think are doing so well have had to take a detour down another path. Some didn’t even start out with their present choice of career. Neuroscientist to singer, physician to author, psychologist to TV host; here’s a list of ten celebrities that were once in the medical line.
Remember Amy Farrah Fowler from Big Bang Theory? Then, Mayim is no stranger to you. Born Mayim Chaya Bialik, the actress was born in California and had already been a successful child actress by the time she graduated from high school. She gained her popularity by playing the title character of the five-season NBC sitcom, Blossom.
By the time Bialik finished high school, her fame had risen to the peak. However, the beautiful intellect had more academic goals she decided to pursue; even though it meant putting her blossoming acting career aside. And the brilliant teenage Bialik got accepted by Yales and Havard. But then, she decided to stay close to her family. So, she went to UCLA and graduated with a BSC in Neuroscience, Hebrew Studies, and Jewish Studies.
The 42-year-old took a leap further and went on with her Ph.D. at UCLA. On completing her Ph.D., she found that being a neurologist wasn’t exactly fit for her busy family schedule, so she decided to go back to the one thing she’d abandoned; show business!!! The Blossom star appeared in several minor TV series and cameos before hitting a more regular role in Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler in the hit television series, The Big Bang Theory. Bialik acted her neuroscientist role perfectly as it was her real-life job.
