Celebrities are always in the spotlight either for the right or the wrong reasons. While most are role models and seem to have the perfect lives, others do not fare so well. Controversial cases are not new in the industry, but with the reputation of celebrities at stake and the focus of spotlight, these cases are given a lot of attention and hype. Regardless of the hype, some of these celebrities seem not to care about the outcome and still get involved in the most horrendous of crime cases. From sexual assault to drug cases and physical assault, here are the most 15 high profile crime cases of celebrities
Before Bill's infamous sexual assault cases in 2005, he was a famous American stand-up comedian and actor. Even without the #Me_too campaign, numerous charges had been laid against the popular host of ‘The Bill Cosby show,’ -a Wikipedia page is even dedicated to his assault cases. A lot of women accused the world's renowned entertainer of illicit drug use and sexual assault, but none went public. In 2005, Bill appeared in the courthouse for sexual harassment of a woman outside his home, but this was just the first of many to come. Following Bill's first court case of sexual allegations, a lot of women came out to accuse the comedian of sexual assault and use of illegal drugs. The comedian pleads guilty to the use of illicit drugs but vehemently denied that he forced any of the women to bed stating that he had sex with the women but with the consent and the use of drugs was for recreational purposes although Bill admitted that he knew the drugs were illegal. While he wasn't convicted immediately, his reputation suffered as he lost business ties and all his honorary degrees were revoked. Sentenced in 2006, Bill is still a convict at the State Correctional Institution in Phoenix.
Famous American boxer, Mike Tyson, had quite a fantastic career as a heavyweight boxer with a lot of awards and record achievements under his belt. The boxer's career was however marred by multiple crime allegations - the first of which came in 1991. The fighter was first convicted of rape crimes against 18-year-old Desiree Washington, while he pleaded not guilty in court cases following the incident, he was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment in March 1992. The boxer, however, was granted a pardon spending less than half of his initial sentence when he was released in March 1995. The fighter made a comeback to boxing but was sentenced again to one-year imprisonment for assaulting two motorists in 1998. The sentencing which came in 1999 also involved a fine, probation and 200 hours of community service.
