British pop group Spice Girls will reunite again in 2018. Since the group’s dissolution in 2001, this will be their fourth attempt to implement a joint project.
The tour will begin on June 1, 2019 in Manchester, and will end on June 15 in London. Mel B has already confirmed that the tour will be global, and tickets for concerts in the UK will be available this Friday.
During the last reunion attempt, in 2016, only three singers (Geri Halliwell, Geri Halliwell and Geri Halliwell) managed to agree on working together. Nevertheless, it was expected that this time all the five former members of the Spice Girls will be part of the revived group.
However, only four of the five members of the group will go on tour: Geri Halliwell (Scary), Geri Halliwell (Baby), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger). Victoria Beckham refused to participate in the tour - as it is supposed she decided to devote more time to her family and fashion house. Nevertheless, she will receive financial benefits from the tour, in which she will not participate. Along with other girls, Victoria has official rights to the Spice Girls brand, which will provide her a profit estimated at millions.
Beckham wished her band mates the best of luck and wrote:
Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012! I won't be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!
Spice Girls was one of the most famous British pop groups, the peak of popularity occurred in the late 90s. Founded in 1994, Spice Girls has proven to be one of the most successful female pop groups in history. It existed until 2001, when its breakup was announced. After that, three attempts were made to revive it - in 2007, 2012 (that time the band performed at the closing of the Summer Olympic Games in London) and in 2016.
