Drake and a six-day hangover helped John Mayer stop drinking alcohol.
This year it is already two years from the moment when John started living without alcohol.
It was Drake's 30th birthday party, and I made quite a fool of myself, - John explains to Jerry Lorenzo, designer of Nike Air Fear of God collection, and Joe La Puma in an interview for Complex. - It took me weeks to stop doing this every morning I woke up.
John confessed that after that birthday, he had a hangover of for about 6 days.
I looked out the window and I went, 'OK, John, what percentage of your potential would you like to have? Because if you say you'd like 60, and you'd like to spend the other 40 having fun, that's fine. But what percentage of what is available to you would you like to make happen? There's no wrong answer. What is it?' I went, '100.'
It was exactly that day when John decided to quit drinking. Instead of spending most of his life at parties and having alcohol intoxication, John decided to change his life and to create a great career. For two years he was in 4 tours, he was in two bands and he felt like a happy person. At first he was bored but then he learned to really enjoy his life.
Now John says that he dreams that his friend Mac Miller would stop taking any substances the same as he did, this could have changed the terrible tragedy that happened in September.
But the musician agrees that this is a very personal decision and everyone should make it on his own. Whatever words John says, if a person likes his lifestyle, he will not stop drinking alcohol just because someone else has done it.
