President Trump Wants To Give Drug Dealers The Death Penalty

President Donald Trump

In a speech that lasted one hour, Donald Trump in an airplane hanger outside Pittsburg confirmed reports that he had been thinking about enforcing the death penalty on drug dealers.

In his address, Trump said he is surprised that murders get harsher penalties than drug dealers, stating “If someone goes and shoots somebody, kills somebody they get the death penalty, [but] a drug dealer will kill 2,000 to 5,000 people during the course of his life.”

The president also acknowledged that this proposition is controversial, “I don’t know if this country is ready but I think it’s a discussion we have to start thinking about.”

Although a death penalty move may seem a bit harsh, it could actually quell the drug crisis in the United States, and more funds could be diverted from combating drugs to other sectors, such as education.
