Gordon Hayward injured his hand during the game against San Antonio Spurs on November 9, 2019. The Boston Celtics forward broke his left hand after colliding with Spurs forward, LaMarcus Aldridge, in the second quarter of the game. Celtics went on to win. The scores were 135-115.

The 29-year-old was forced out of the game after the accident. The unprecedented occurrence may rule him out of the season for a long while.

According to the Celtics, the forward was diagnosed with a fracture in his non-shooting hand after an X-ray.

He underwent surgery on his injured hand on Monday. He could be out for six weeks, which means Gordon Hayward 2019 career is not over yet. It will, however, be a massive blow for the teammates, who will have to play without him.

The forward player had a perfect start in the season, in what appears to be among the best performances in his career. He was averaging 18.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists this season. His 55% shooting rate from the field and 43.3% on 3-pointers also show why he is one of the key players for Celtics this season.

Gordon Hayward broken hand is not the first injury he has experienced since signing for Celtics back in 2017. His debut for the team was in a season opener against Cleveland Cavaliers, but it did not turn out as expected. The talented player broke his left ankle just 6 minutes and 50 seconds into the game. Celtics lost.
