From all the interviewed expats, more than 90% of the experts who have immigrated into Portugal are comfortable living there. Expats were asked what factors they considered before declaring Portugal is an expat-friendly country, and the contributing factors were highlighted as follows. The Portuguese friendly attitude contributed 94%, the ease of befriending the locals contributed 58%, and the likelihood of expats becoming permanent residents contributed 47%. Portuguese are said to be hospitable, helpful and very social and sociable. More than 50% of the expats interviewed said that the locals are very outgoing, tolerant, with a never fading smile on their faces.
