Romantic attraction is a complex thing that science still can't fully explain. But, through research and experimentation, scientists have come up with several ideas about what draws one person to another.
Below are 19 scientific insights into the traits and behaviors that make men more appealing to women.
1. Look for someone 'in your league'
If you go for a person roughly [equal] to you in attractiveness, it avoids two things: If they are much better-looking than you, you are concerned about them going off and having affairs. If they are much less attractive, you are worried that you could do better.
2. Present yourself as high status
The University of Wales Institute discovered that men pictured with a Silver Bentley Continental GT were seen as way more attractive than those pictures with a Red Ford Fiesta ST.
Furthermore, a 2014 study from Cardiff Metropolitan University discovered that men pictured in a luxury apartment are rated as more attractive than those in a control group.
3. Look older
Psychologists call it the "George Clooney Effect."
A 2010 study of 3,770 heterosexual adults submitted that women often prefer older men. As the ladies became more financially independent, they said they liked older guys even more.
