Let us have an honest conversation about the religious doctrine of Islam.
Islam is not a faith of peace. Christianity as well is not a religion of peace.
But, most followers of both religions are generally peaceful.
One evil doesn't justify another evil. Christianity's sins do not justify Islam's
The rationale behind this article focusing on Islam and not Christianity is the modern prevalence of religious violence in the Islamic world. Christianity is not without its evil still there is far less international terrorist attacks and mass slaughter perpetrated by Christians today than by those of Islam.
Criticizing a religion or a doctrine is not a criticism of everyone that practices the religion
It's not even a criticism of all who make mistakes while inspired by the religions. Humans are willing to do outrageous things when ruled by a bad cause. Not every World War II Nazis was a homicidal maniac but mankind's nature tells them to act a particular way in order to survive in their environment. It is difficult to fault someone for traits that come from evolutionary biology and natural selection.
Nevertheless, commenting on an ideology, philosophy, or a religion is not off limits. Every doctrine that motivates human action should be open for review. One's religion may be part of his identity and it holds a special place in his heart but that doesn't mean it should be immune to criticism.
