Swedish men’s enlightened perspectives toward gender and equality roles make them among the best potential husbands in advanced countries, a study has shown.
The study discovered that Sweden is the most egalitarian society of the 12 developed nations examined by Oxford University economist Almudena Sevilla-Sanz.
As a result, men from Sweden are also more likely to pitch in with household tasks like cooking meals and doing the laundry compared with their counterparts in less egalitarian societies.
This readiness to get their hands dirty around the home, in turn, makes Swedish men a better catch for women seeking to settle down with a helpful and reliable partner, although Sevilla-Sanz points out that both women and men are more likely to seek out partners they think will take on their fair share of home labor.
