The second quarter of 2018 has come and gone and we have seen major releases from most of hip hop/rap’s heavy hitters, including Kanye West, Nas, J. Cole, Drake, and Pusha T, plus collaborative albums from The Carters and Kids See Ghosts.
While some top musicians have dropped a project already, there is still plenty to look forward to. With the trend of surprise albums growing, it is anybody’s guess as to who else might drop out of nowhere like The Carters and Freddie Gibbs did earlier this year.
So, check out the 10 most anticipated Hip Hop/Rap albums left in the calendar year.
10. Noname — TBA
Noname can't be predicted. She moves in silence; the kind of quiet secrecy that is needed to collaborate with Beyoncé. The Chicago wordsmith lately returned to Twitter after a 6-month hiatus. This is a good sign that her reappearance marks the start of something. We are still deeply enamored by Telefone, Noname’s amazing 2016 debut album, but the hunger for new music is strong. We can just hope that her sophomore effort will be in our ears before the end of 2018.
